Empathy

Empathy is a counselor disposition that I feel is one of my strengths. I strive to provide a non-judgmental space for clients to be themselves and share their experiences. I aim to meet each client where they are and collaborate on their treatment goals and plan. I work toward building rapport and trust with my
clients by being aware of how I hold space for them,

and reflect their emotions, thoughts and behaviors for
clarity and validation.

As a therapist who shows empathy and compassion
toward clients, I also take steps to maintain
professional boundaries. To ensure that boundaries are
being upheld I meet weekly with my clinical supervisor

to review cases and I seek decision making advice
with other therapists at the practice. This helps me
maintain a level of compassion and empathy ensuring that the client's welfare is the priority of treatment.
